BlackBoard was born from a single conversation in 2022 between two executive search professionals who recognised a missing space, not a seat at the table, but a third space. A place where Black professionals could connect beyond hierarchy, grow beyond limitation, and lead with intention. The brand was created to serve those navigating underrepresented industries, particularly executive search, with clarity, community, and opportunity.
I turned a mission into a meaning-driven brand system.
I translated BlackBoard’s layered purpose into a clear, timeless identity, from a name built as a triple entendre: Black excellence, Board-level leadership, and lifelong learning, to a minimal logo system rich with symbolism. Every design decision reflects movement, connection, and navigation, aligning with the brand’s core values of Inspiration, Influence, and Insight. The result is an identity that feels as powerful and enduring as the professionals it exists to support.
